Illustration

All illustrations for stories are commissioned from our in-house team of artists. If you would be interested in joining the TFF artist team please email the fiction editor at with subject line: TFF artist query, stating your interest and be prepared to show some examples of your work; an online portfolio or demonstration site would be ideal. Please do not send unpublished work on spec.

We generally ask for two illustrations per story, one for the top of the page which should avoid spoilers, and one with less restrictions. We will pay the artist a total of $10 for the non-exclusive right to use these two images in the context of our publication of the story. Copyright and resale rights remain with the artist at all times.

In addition, one illustration per issue may be chosen for the front cover of the web and e-book versions of the magazine, and the cover artist will be paid an additional $10.

All artwork remains the copyright and property of the individual artists. We hope, but do not insist, you will mention TFF and link to the illustrated story if re-using or showcasing your work elsewhere.
